Porro prisms are known to out perform roof prisms on a cost basis, this might be the reason Nikon chose this layout.These weigh 8.8 ounces, have an 11mm eye relief, and an excellent close focus distance of 9.8ft. Field of view on this model is a respectable 261ft at 1000yards. Magnification is 10x and the objective lenses are 25mm in diameter.

Nikon 10x40 Action Series
