The first time I saw a line up of Minox devices including Minox binoculars, I said to myself "This stuff looks very James Bond like".I later found out that the well known camera maker Minox developed some very popular espionage equipment.The company manufactures quite a few devices that are not only known for quality but, have a uniqueness and sleek design that is difficult to find anywhere else.

Minox 8x25 BRW

These Very compact Minox binoculars have been designed to have the image quality of a much larger pair of binoculars. One feature that I am impressed by is the field of view is an excellent 390ft at 1000 yards despite the very small size. These Roof Prism binoculars are fully waterproof, and have a quick center focus. This Model of BRW has a very good close focus distance of 3.94 feet allowing very close objects to be viewed with clarity. The Magnification Rating on these is 8x and the objective lens size is 25mm.

The HG on Minox binoculars stands for high grade, and high grade is exactly what Minox is aiming for with this series.The HG series is designed to perform as highly as technology allows in every category possible.These roof prism binoculars are designed with a specialized minox coating that brings the light transmission to 92% for a very bright and detailed image.The Hg series is filled with argon gas and sealed, which makes the binocular completely waterproof as well as resistant to corrosion. This model has a 15mm eye relief and a twilight ready exit pupil of 4.3mm

Minox designed this model to bring the recently neglected porro prism design up to speed, in order to capitalize on its advantages while minimizing the disadvantages.Porro prism binocular have greater efficiency when it comes to the transmission of light, they also have a tendency to perform better on a cost by cost basis. These Modern porro prism binoculars are waterproof, have an eyeglass friendly eye relief of 16mm, and a respectable field of view of 268ft @ 1000 yards.

6x16 Monocular

Yes, I know this is a binoculars site but, I couldn't write about Minox binoculars without showing off one of the miniature descendants of Minox's legendary spy cameras. This is a very small Monocular with 6x magnification by 16mm with a built in altimeter, what you use an altimeter for, I am not certain, maybe hiking or mountain climbing but, it certainly is cool. This is one of the reason why I called Minox James Bond like.The dimensions on this thing is only 3 inches by 1.3 inches, weighing in at about 3 ounces this is a go anywhere device.
